Kotor is a famous Montenegrin medieval, seaside town in the Bay of Kotor.

The city has about 1333 inhabitants, while the old part of the city with the Mediterranean port is surrounded by impressive and well-preserved city walls, under the protection of UNESCO as a world cultural heritage. In its existence, due to its strategic position, it had a turbulent history.

Between the years 1420-1797 it belonged to Venice and precisely this Venetian influence left its characteristic seal on the architecture of the old town. There are as many as 18 churches, 1 basilica, 2 monasteries and many town houses typical Mediterranean and Mediterranean style.

As said, it lies in the bay of Boka Kotorska, which is one of the longest and deepest coves in the Adriatic Sea and is often called the southernmost fjord in Europe. The nearby peaks of Orjen and Lovćen, which surround the city, are one of the most magnificent in the Mediterranean.

In recent years the city, the Bay of Boke and the nearby peaks, is attracting more and more tourists who are attracted by natural beauties and sights. The city of Kotor was first inhabited during the time of ancient Rome, when it was known as Acruvium and actually belonged to the Roman province of Dalmatia.
