The Katschberg is ready for the skiing season 2008/09!

We all hope that Mother Hulde shakes out her beds as hard this coming winter as she did last year. However if she slackened due to exhaustion it would not make anyone at the Katschenberg nervous: here at the border between Kärnten and Salzburg, where snow is a certainty, all pistes can be artificially covered with snow.

Snow a certainty

500 modern snow lances can be found in the entire skiing area, standing like tin soldiers ready for combat and saving a third of the energy used by conventional "cannons". This is the Katschberg contribution to the current discussion on climate change and energy efficiency. The modern snow lances can cover 100% of the Katschberg piste area with artificial snow. And very quickly too: skiers and snowboarders can go full swing on the Katschberg after only two days of mechanical snow.
